These are my finds for the hour I spent going through the cheapies piles, and then a quick glance to the regular priced stock. Without further delay, here is the booty.
Tigersushi Presents More GDM 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
A collection of 80s lost and classic, with a few new tracks added for value. I love Maurice Fulton usually, so that was a draw, as well as the 7 Grand Housing Authority.

What's Happening In Pernambuco - New Sounds of the Brazilian Northwest Luka Bop .99$
A: Why I Bought It:
This is David Byrne's label, at the price I thought it would be an interesting listen.
B: Other Details:
I looked around to find out more about this release, and it has it's own myspace page. Who knew!

Walter Meego Presents - Romantic 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
I already had the "Through A Keyhole" single and really enjoyed it. I figured I would take a chance to see what his other works sounds like.

Vitalic Ok Cowboy 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
Because I am a big Vitalic fan, and already own this CD [there's a hidden track before the first track, BTW]. I couldn't pass by the chance to have a copy to give to a friend. Contains monster hits like Poney #1, My Friend Dario, and La Rock 01. What is not to love about his thick aggressive sound?

Atlantiquity - Various Artists 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
Another CD I already own, I wouldn't have picked this one up, excepting that it has the FLAWLESS King Britt remix of Chic's A Warm Summer Night which has been a staple of my sets since the day I heard it. The rest of the CD is a bit "not very interesting" to me. Your milage will vary, but try to get it for cheap.

Atom™ presents Acid Evolution 1988-2003 .49$
A: Why I Bought It:
I paid like $20 for this when it was released!!I absolutely love Atomheart and this and the Señor Coconut later in the list are examples of the two drastic poles you would sit between while trying to categorize his work. When I got this back in 05, I played it quite a bit, but I wasn't playing out very much at the time, so finding it again was a reminder to drop it in my back and keep it on the back burner, all the tracks are intense without being too long, some actually are too short for my tastes, but with the attention to the various ages of acid house reflected on a track by track basis, its an essential for any acid house head. My favorites recalled: Stay (Remix), Acid On, and Come On Acid. Remember, its not really a multi-artist compilation.

Kaskade - Here & Now .49$
A: Why I Bought It:
The price was right to sample some of this acts work, he's not usually someone I would check out. Only the second disk was in the compilation, it is unmixed [as is everything you will see me review, since mixed CDs are useless to digital DJing]. Anybody want to drop me a comment and tell what's the tracks to look out for here.

Digitalism - Idealism .99$
A: Why I Bought It:
Well I was just at the party last Sunday talking with my friend V and she'd seen Digitalism live and was singing their praises. I have always found their production style on remixes I had gotten a bit harsh, and wasn't going to pursue the act, but her rave review got me to give it another try. I was familiar with Zdarlight on this but that was it. The jury is still out for me and digitalism.

Quiet Village Silent Movie 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
I love Radio Slave, as do many many people these days. I end up picking up pretty much anything I can get my hands on by him, I am still fascinated by his production style. this record is so new it is not even listed at discogs yet. But they had info on a few tracks contained on it. It appears to collect three previously released 12"s [although wheres that Drax b-side?] I don't have any of the Quiet Village work, this is my first exploration. But I can't help but wonder if these are edits of the 12" versions. They sure look short for a Matt Edwards production.

This CD is not listed yet. How new is that!
Justice promo single of Waters of Nazereth/Let There Be Light/Carpates .49$
A: Why I Bought It:
Because I didn't buy the album. People appear to like it, it scored a 5/5 on Discogs. I'm still not feeling these guys. I do like the Braxe remix and Price remix of D.A.N.C.E., but I think its despite Justice, not because of them.

This Mortal Coil/5 Selected Originals [from the boxset] .99$
A: Why I Bought It:
This was a promo sampler from their retrospective box set, and contains tracks from the fourth disk, which is a collection of the original tracks that were covered by This Mortal Coil. I bought it to hear the original version of Song Of The Siren by Tim Buckley.
B: Other Details:
This wasn't listed on Discogs.
Various - Discovered - A Collection Of Daft Funk Samples 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
Because my anorak hoodie needs washing and I don't know everything about the background of every record I've ever heard sampled. All the times appear to be edits or single mixes. Is it useful? It may reveal a track you might want to seek out to get but its not very useful as it stands.
B: Other Details:
This was almost as affordable as it was when I downloaded a collection like this from PalmsOut's blog.
Bis Plastic Nouveau .99$
A: Why I Bought It:
Face it, I love Bis. Remixes from there already ready to play Return To Central album. I already own this, but at that price, I can give it to a friend.
B: Other Details:
Tommy Sunshine's brassy version of the End Starts Today is on this, as well as some other divergent takes from that CD.

Various - Explorations - Classic Picante Regrooved 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
There was a couple of producers I like on here, Hex Hector, MAW, Carl Cox. Combine that with a latin twist, and its a good try out for the price. Needs further listening to determine its ultimate value for my sets.
B: Other Details:

Tiga Sexor 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It
I already had this, and I love Tiga, but if you ever heard me DJ you'd know that. Not really crazy about the Burning Down the House cover, or Louder than a Bomb, but that Batman Soundtrack cover pastiche "Whos That?" [Why isn't this 5 minutes long!!!]
B: Other Details:

Armand Van Helden - Ghettoblaster 5.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
I bought this because I am playing about 4 remixes of tracks from this album, and I didn't have or hear the originals. AVH has always been a contender, so I figured to pay attention to his work too, rather than just go for the "todays latest sounds" versions. It cost a bit more than the other super deals here, but for the original mixes of the 4 tracks alone would've been at least $10 on beatport.

Emperor Machine - Vertical Tones & Horizontal Noise 7.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
This was the most expensive thing I got at Academy, but it was totally worth it. I have listened to this a couple of times since bought it, and have been completely proven in my fondness for his productions. I only previously owned remix work by Andrew Meecham, but have been listening to him in the Bizarre Inc and Chicken Lips variants for years. I figured I should know his originals too.

M.I.A. Boyz 3.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
I love MIA, and am a hugnormouos Switch fan, so this was a natural. The CD single also has the acapella, and the parts so you can make your own damn version.

Various - 5 Years Get Physical 2 disk set 1.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
Its great, I already had 1/2 of it as digital downloads, so it was a no-brainer to pick it up cheap. Not a huge fan of the Oh Superman cover which I guess was a showcase track on this, but I really liked the remake of Body Language by Señor Coconut. If you see this at a good price, just pick it up, it's a good barometer of what's up in 2007.

Señor Coconut And His Orchestra Fiesta Songs 5.99$
A: Why I Bought It:
I am generally a fan of Atomhearts various guises [Geeez 'N' Gosh are a particular favorite] and I had avoided is release due to the novelty aspect of it. Fandom won out however at that price, and in the bag it went. You like him or you hate him.
